Frequently Asked Questions

Dear Star6: Does it work for iPod touch too?
Star6: Yes it does! We wouldn’t leave our iPod touch buddies out in the cold like that.
Dear Star6: I hear you have a user manual, where is it?
Star6: It’s right over there in the Tutorials section. Ok, you can grab it here too. We would HIGHLY suggest you take a look at it before writing us. It’s not that we don’t want to hear from you, but rather that it will most probably answer your question more quickly than we can.
Dear Star6: How do I get more samples on my phone?
Star6: It’s easy! Push the Upload button located in the session window and that pops up a screen with a URL in the center of it. Enter that address into your web browser and our upload screen should pop right up. You can download recordings just as easily on that screen too.
Dear Star6: Your application looks cool, can I try it out before I buy it?
Star6: Unfortunately no. Apple doesn’t have it set up that way, and we have to play by the rules!
Dear Star6: If a boy kisses me, will I become pregnant?
Star6: It’s a proven fact that kissing indeed DOES lead to pregnancy! Watch out!
Dear Star6: How can I get my stupid computer to connect to my phone?
Star6: When you upload / download samples from Star6 you just have to be on the same network as your computer. The iPhone actually acts as a mini web server and by entering the URL that appears on the Upload screen into your web browser you connect to the device. It’s not PC or Mac specific and should be pretty effortless. The only issue is that both iPhone and computer need to be on the same wireless network.
Dear Star6: What languages can I get mine in?
Star6: We currently only offer it in English, but we tried to make it color coded and as intuitive as possible. Our user manual is currently English only, but if there’s demand we’ll translate.
Dear Star6: Can I make my own damn samples?
Star6: Sure can! We tried to make it as easy as possible for you to get samples into Star6 and out again. Star6 uses Wav or Aiff file types. No Mp3 at the moment (it’s faster and better sounding this way). You can load samples made with any music or audio program into Star6 as long as it’s a Wav of Aiff, less than 2MB, 16-24 bit, and 22050 - 44100 mhz (most samples are, but you might want to double check). We find that 4/4 loops in even bar lengths (1, 2, 4, 8, 16) work best if you have samples where the beat is important.
Dear Star6: I made something hella cool, here, check it out!
Star6: Wikkid! We are extremely curious what you are up to with our baby so please send mp3’s and videos to: info@agilepartners.com
Dear Star6: I have a problem, who do I yell at?
Star6: You do? Did you re-start your phone? You did? Ok, send us your question or problem and we'll try to help you out.
Dear Star6: You are awesome, how do you do it??
Star6: Aww shucks, we’re just trying to make some interesting tools and foster a bit of creativity.
Dear Star6: I bought Star6 in iTunes but it’s not on my phone, what did I do wrong?
Star6: Jeeze, it could be anything. First, when you plug in your iPhone/iPod touch and the sync window opens up, click on the Applications tab and see if it’s there. Is it? Then make sure the button next to the app is selected and re-sync. If it is not there at all, then we’re afraid you might have a problem with downloading it or your order from the iTunes side. They have a great website to help you troubleshoot here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1702
